Congratulations and a huge thank you to everyone who took part in the Writing Marathon. We raised over £2,000 for SAGE Greenfingers – and we had a great time. We ran out of pens, filled notebooks, ate cake, and wrote about every subject under the sun. Check out the write up in the Burngreave Messenger
Five days to go, we have a good number signed up for the Marathon and the sponsorship money is rolling in. If you haven’t registered yet, it’s not too late – just follow the link on the sidebar. Why register and raise sponsorship online? Mainly because the CharityGiving website collects Gift Aid on every donation – which can increase it by 25%. Happy fundraising & look forward to seeing you on Saturday with those fast-moving pens!
Want to write but never find the time? Want to support a brilliant Sheffield-based charity?
Ask your friends & family to sponsor you to write for a day. The money will go to SAGE Greenfingers who offer horticultural and creative therapy for people whose lives are affected by mental health issues.
The marathon will be based on Natalie Goldberg’s Writing Practice approach, with timed writing on a huge variety of topics, supported by guest facilitators River Wolton, Patsy Seddon, Sally Goldsmith and others. So that we don’t seize up there’ll be free massage and gentle yoga donated by massage therapists and yoga teachers. If you can’t get to Sheffield, you can join us via Twitter and Facebook.
