How will it raise money for SAGE Greenfingers? Participants will get sponsored and raise money via Charity Giving. Fundraising via the Charity Giving website means that funds and Gift Aid can be collected and given straight to the charity. But if you’re not able to arrange sponsorship or give a donation you’re still welcome to come along.

What will we write about? We’ll use Natalie Goldberg’s Writing Practice method with timed writing (starting with 5 minute bursts) from a huge variety of starting points. Topics will be devised by the participants and by guest facilitators River Wolton, Sally Goldsmith, Patsy Seddon and others. There’ll be lots of support and encouragement to keep the pen moving and tips for not getting stuck.

What if I seize up? In the breaks there will be massage and gentle yoga donated by massage therapists and yoga teachers.

Who can take part? Anyone is welcome – all ages, all levels of experience. If you’re under 16 you need permission from parent or carer. You are welcome to write in any language.

I’m new to writing can I still join in? Yes, you are welcome.

Will we have to read out? No. There’ll be opportunities to read out but no obligation.

What shall I bring? A packed lunch, a notebook or paper and a fast-moving pen!

Can I join in if I can’t get to the Welcome Centre? Yes. The topics will be posted on Facebook and Twitter (volunteers needed to co-ordinate social media!)

Can I use the time to write my novel / play / poetry collection / hit TV series? Yes, especially if you raise funds for SAGE Greenfingers at the same time!
